natural cladding
We have a range of carefully selected cladding options from the best producers. Not only is the cladding a functional feature that provides protection from the elements, additional soundproofing, and insulation; but your cladding choice can define the overall look of the building.
There is a huge choice of natural woods available - we’ll discuss this with you when we do our site visit to see what your priorities are. For example, certain products will allow you to change the colour or finish of your room along with current trends as time passes.
We have a range of beautiful natural wood cladding options, all created from renewable timbers. For more information check out our Buyer’s Guide.
Western Red Cedar
Western Red Cedar is a very popular cladding option. It has less knots than British cedar giving a cleaner appearance. To maintain the beauty of the wood, regular oiling with a UV resistant oil is required.Thermo Pine
Thermally Treated Pine (or Larch) is a cost-effective cladding that is suitable for a variety of stains and colour finishes. It can also be left to silver over time, or can be oiled regularly to maintain its original appearance.Thermo Ayous
A West and Central African timber, Ayous is an innovative, natural hardwood product that is non-toxic, highly durable, dimensionally stable and provides a clear grade, virtually knot free cladding board.Flatsawn Adobo
This hardwood is generally oiled with a UV resistant oil every year to maintain it's beautiful appearance. Like all wood, it will lose it's colour over time (known as 'silvering') without regular maintenance.Abodo Vulcan Laminated
Treated Adobo is generally oiled every year to maintain it's beautiful appearance. Like all natural materials, it will lose it's colour without regular maintenance. This is called "silvering"Why We Love Thermally Treated Timber
We’re big fans of thermally treated wood for cladding our garden rooms — it has that rare mix of natural beauty, technical performance, and sustainability that fits perfectly with how we build.
By gently heat-treating the timber, its structure changes from the inside out. The result? A material that’s remarkably stable, resistant to decay, and completely chemical-free. It shrugs off the elements, needs very little maintenance, and we love how it naturally weathers to a soft silver-grey over time.
Every board has its own grain and character, so each garden room looks unique — warm, tactile, and beautifully connected to its setting.
In short, we love it because it’s real wood, made better — timeless, sustainable, and built to last.
